About Seymours on Lydiard
Originally the The North Star Hotel, it was built in 1857 in Soldiers Hill, Ballarat North. Now 154 years old, it is one of Ballarat's few surviving 1850s hotels and is a well recognised landmark in the Ballarat streetscape.
Colleen, Phil, and Chris Sargent†are the current owners of Seymours on Lydiard. They have extensive experience in the hospitality industry and are excited about bringing a new face and fresh ideas to this well renowned Ballarat cafe and restaurant.
The exterior was recently restored to maintain the integrity of the historical building, while the interior has been renovated to provide an elegant and relaxed space for alfresco, indoor, or courtyard dining, as well as two spacious function rooms.
Whether you're dining in the restaurant, enjoying a cocktail and pizza or tapas in the upstairs tapas bar, or just popping in for a coffee and cake or after work drinks, Seymours on Lydiard offers friendly service and great atmosphere.
